Xu Zechen was born in Donghai City, Jiangsu Province in 1978 and now lives in Beijing. He currently works as an editor at People’s Literature Magazine. In 2009 he was a writer in residence at Creighton University, and in 2010 he attended the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. His works are translated into German, English, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Mongolian, Dutch, Russian and Spanish. If Heavy Snow Seals the Door wins Lu Xun Literary Prize. Jerusalem is nominated for Mao Dun Literary Prize.
