The Cretaceous Past is a collection of Liu Cixin's three short and medium science fiction novels, including The Cretaceous Past, The Village Teacher and Fire in the Earth. The book was named after the title of the first novel. It tells the story about dinosaurs and ants--two species with very different body shapes. When they met, a series of interesting stories happened. Relationship between the two species has undergone a shift from peaceful coexistence to rivalry at the battlefield. After that, the two species ended up in handshakes and worked in concert with each other to save their common home--earth. The story is brilliant and interesting, suitable for young readers. Among the three novels, the second one The Village Teacher has been adapted into a movie--Crazy Alien, which is widely praised after its release.
