Book Introduction
My County, My Blood, based on the Yunnan-Burma Anti-Japanese War (1942–1944), depicts three young students from the National Southwestern Associated University, i.e., Zhao Guangling, Zhou Rong and Liao Zhihong. They resolutely gave up civilian pursuits to join the army. Leaving the university, they went to study at the Huangpu Military Academy, and were honored as the “Three Musketeers of the National Southwestern Associated University”. After graduation from the academy, they went to the battleground of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression but had different fates. The book describes not only the deep feelings the intellectuals of that generation had for their motherland, as well as their twists and turns, but also their steadfast determination to render service to their nation.
