From October 16 to 20, the 71st Frankfurt Book Fair was held at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre in Germany. More than 7,400 publishers from 104 countries, including China, participated in the event. During the book fair, Chinese exhibitors displayed 4,457 Chinese books in 3,602 types, and organized a variety of cultural exchange activities, reflecting the brilliant achievements since the founding of the People’s Republic of China 70 years ago and the results of exchange and cooperation by China’s publishing industry.
In order to make full use of the international book fair platform and implement the national cultural strategy of "going global", Beijing Publishing Group actively participated in this book fair and exhibited more than 200 kinds of fine original books, of which books in foreign languages accounted for nearly 50%. During this year's book fair, on the afternoon of October 18th local time, Beijing Publishing Group and Big Sky Publishing House of Australia jointly held a signing ceremony for the English version of Great Uncle Mouse Woke Up Late. Denny Neave, general manager of Big Sky Publishing House, representatives of the Australian Publishers Association and Cao Lei, director of Beijing Publishing Group, attended the event. Great Uncle Mouse Woke Up Late is the first children's literature work of the writer author Ms. Ye Guangqin. Because of its vivid and interesting Chinese stories and oriental charm, it has attracted the attention of many international publishers once it was launched. Cao Lei, as the representative of the Chinese publisher, introduced the group to the audience and shared the creation history of the book and the copyright cooperation with Australian side. Denny Neave, the general manager of Big Sky Publishing Group, gave a speech on the cooperation with Beijing Publishing Group and the signing and cooperation process of Great Uncle Mouse Woke Up Late. From an editor's point of view, Qi Yangping, from Beijing Children's Publishing House, gave a detailed introduction to the planning, production and publication of the book, and shared her experience in reading the book. The event received a warm response and was welcomed by the audience and readers.
