Recently, the Office of the Leading Group for the Selection of the Fifth Chinese Government Awards for Publishing announced the list of winners of Awards. A total of 7 projects from Beijing Publishing Group were selected. Among them, The Disappearing Beauty: Endangered Plants and Animals in China by Beijing Publishing House and A Story in the Clouds by Beijing October Literature and Art Publishing House won the book award; The People’s Republic of China at 70: A Pictorial Celebration by Beijing Publishing House won the Printing and Copy Award and the nomination for the Book Award; Juvenile Science Pictorial won the Journal Award; Beijing October Literature and Art Publishing House won the Award for Advanced Publishing Organization; Editor-in-Chief of October Magazine Chen Dongjie won the Award for Outstanding Publisher (Outstanding Editor).
The Chinese Government Award for Publishing is sponsored by the National Press and Publication Administration to commend and reward outstanding publications, publishing organizations and individuals in the domestic press and publishing industry. In this year’s selection, the group won awards for excellent books, periodicals, printing and copy, advanced organization and outstanding editor. It is the group’s best performance in its history, which reflects the group's unremitting efforts to adhere to its publishing strategy and social commitment.
