Recently, after a comprehensive review, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese confirmed that 93 cultural institutions recommended by the Federations of Returned Overseas Chinese of provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) have been selected into the 8th batch of China International Culture Communication Bases for Overseas Chinese. The October Literature Institute was successfully selected.

Affiliated to Beijing Publishing Group, the October Literature Institute was founded in 2015 and officially opened in October 2016. Located in Yousheng Temple in Yongdingmen Park, Beijing, it is an innovative platform for the “October” literary brand as well as a core comprehensive literary institution based on “writers’ creation, publishing cooperation, literary exchange and promotion”. With the basic positioning of “government guidance and enterprise operation" and centering on the purpose of "three platforms and six functions", the October Literature Institute actively undertakes two missions. First, as the main organizer of Beijing October Literature Month led by the Publicity Department of Beijing Municipal Party Committee, it serves as an important platform for building Beijing into a cultural center. Second, as an innovative development platform for the “October” literary brand, the October Literature Institute is a new growth point of the “October” literary brand and the competitiveness of Beijing Publishing Group. With key innovative projects such as “October Writer’s Residence", "Sign-up Writers", “Foreign Translator Residency Program ", "October Translation Copyright Exchange Program", it plays an active role in concentrating literary resources and encouraging writers to create better literary works in Beijing.
