Time:2022-01-07

Recently, Beijing Publishing Group received a certificate of thanks from the Ministry of Education of Malaysia. The letter expressed sincere thanks to Beijing Publishing Group for its donation of the Malaysian version of four books (From the Imperial Palace to the Palace Museum, From the Soil - The Foundations of Chinese Society, Stories of Confucius and Letters on Beauty in the “Masters for the Masses” Book Series) to Malaysian schools participating in the “Caring School Program.” The certificate of thanks was autographed and issued by Dato’ Dr. Mah Hang Soon, Deputy Minister of Education of Malaysia. The donation was started by Green Fiction Publishing (M) Sdn Bhd as its effort to participate in the Caring School Program, and was made in the name of both Green Fiction Publishing (M) Sdn Bhd and Beijing Publishing Group.

Green Fiction Publishing (M) Sdn Bhd is a quality partner of Beijing Publishing Group in the region of Southeast Asia. For many years, both parties have translated many quality publications of Beijing Publishing Group from Chinese into Malaysian, and these translated works are highly popular with local readers. “Masters for the Masses” Book Series is a brand name among the quality publications of Beijing Publishing Group. As it boasts a writing style of introducing profound knowledge with easy-to-understand language, it is popular with ordinary readers who would nurture their tastes in humanities and social sciences, and it always sells well. After both parties selected the above-mentioned four books from the “Masters for the Masses” Book Series in 2018, they spent three years translating and publishing the Malaysian version of these books. Such a task was also selected into the “Silk Road Book Translation” program initiated by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The Malaysian version of “Masters for the Masses” Book Series will be sent to dozens of local schools participating in the Caring School Program in Malaysia. It is hoped that the Malaysian adolescents would learn about the fine traditional Chinese culture in the fields of history, society, architecture and aesthetics as well as the evolution of the Chinese society with their mother tongue. The donation of these books increases the influence and the brand reputation of Beijing Publishing Group among the countries involved in the “Belt and Road” Initiative. It is also conducive to helping the books of Beijing Publishing Group “go outside China”, then “enter the overseas market” and finally “merge into the overseas market.”

During the period of the “14th Five-year Plan”, Beijing Publishing Group will join hands with excellent partners in Malaysia to drive the development of copyright trade and hold cultural communication activities in the region of Southeast Asia. Beijing Publishing Group will also further strengthen its collaboration with well-established publishing organizations in various countries, build a long-term mechanism, promote the quality international cultural communication at a deep level, and contribute its due share to building Beijing into a national cultural center and an international communication center.
