Time:2022-04-15

On April 5-7, 2022, the London Book Fair was held at Olympia London. This was the first time that the offline exhibition of the London Book Fair was held two years after the outbreak of the COVID-19 in 2020. Beijing Publishing Group (BPG) occupied a leading position among all the Chinese publishing groups in terms of the number of books displayed at the book fair.

The year of 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level between China and the UK. Under the theme of “Reading China”, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee organized domestic publishers to display the results of the cooperation between Chinese and British publishing industries from various perspectives, in many fields and at different levels.

A total of 500 key book titles with more than 1,000 copies from over 60 Chinese publishers were showcased at the joint display counter for Chinese publishing industry. These books cover the topics in five areas: special themes, social sciences, traditional culture, literature and children. Another 100 key books under the promotion title of “going global” were collectively showcased on the page of “Reading China” on the website of the Chinese Embassy to Britain and the website of the London Book Fair.

In its efforts to prepare for the book fair, BPG selected 60 books for offline display and 70 books for online display.
