"On March 31, "Beijing Publishing Group Sets Out to Build Children's Aircraft Carriers" - Beijing version of the "Children's Industry Action Plan", sponsored by Beijing Publishing Group, was officially released at the 2021 Beijing Book Fair, which is dubbed as the "Vane in publishing". “Children’s Industry Action Plan” (hereinafter referred to as the “Action Plan”) that was unveiled this time is a key project that represents the transformation and innovative development of Beijing Publishing Group aiming at fostering new growth sector for “publishing +” and creating a new cultural landmark in Beijing. Eleven industry experts, including Wei Yushan, Dean of China Press and Publication Research Institute, Chen Dan, Dean of Press and Publication School of Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, and Zhang Liming, General Manager of China Hualu Group Co., Ltd., participated in the event in the form of video conference. Nearly a hundred guests from all walks of life, including representatives of the children's industry, enterprises, and news media, attended the event. Qu Zhong, deputy secretary, vice president, and general manager of Beijing Publishing Group, and Li Qingxia, member of the party committee, director, deputy general manager and editor-in-chief, attended the event. The release was hosted by Li Qingxia.
As the only comprehensive publishing organization in Beijing, Beijing Publishing Group has always focused on its main responsibilities and its main business, and insisted on the unity of social and economic benefits. Over 70 years, it made outstanding contributions to promote the development of the capital's cultural undertakings and cultural industries and help the construction of a national cultural center. In particular, the children's sector under the group has accumulated abundant high-quality children's brand resources, author resources and content resources after years of intensive cultivation. The products cover all age groups from 0 to 18 years, the maternal and child market, and the entire industry chain of K12 education. It includes six major sub-sectors: children's education, children's science popularization, infants and young children, children's training and cultural tourism, children's film and television drama, and children's publishing and cultural creation.
2021 is the first year of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and a crucial year for the transformation and reform of Beijing Publishing Group. At present, the group aims to become the benchmark of the industry. While focusing on its core publishing business, it also cultivates new growth sectors of "publishing +", and strives to create a new cultural landmark and new business card in Beijing. The "Action Plan" launched this time aims to break through the traditional circle of children's publishing, integrate resources inside and outside the industry to the greatest extent, and gradually build a full-age children's industry chain spearheaded by publishing content with the form and concept of "culture + products". The "Action Plan" will integrate and utilize new media and new technologies to explore cross-border publishing development projects, integrate children's businesses of different formats and different age groups, promote resource sharing, and expand and strengthen the children's sector. The group aims to create a new cultural landmark and a new business card of Beijing with the practical actions of the industrialization of children's brands, and make greater contributions to the development of the national cultural center.
At the press conference, Qu Zhong released the three strategic measures of "Children's Industry Action Plan":
The first measure is to launch the "Children's Industry Alliance Program": the group will focus on the industrialization of children's publishing, promote the integration of internal and external resources of the group, and expand the industrial space. The parties to the cooperation will be closely connected to form a bond of risk sharing and benefit sharing, promote cooperation in the children's industry through higher-level integrated development, promote cultural industry innovation and service diversification and coordination, and build a more dynamic, open and innovative industrial ecology and a more competitive children's industry system. The group welcomes relevant enterprises that are interested in "culture + products" in the children's industry.
The second measure is to build a "children's industry development service platform": the platform will integrate the resources of Beijing Publishing Group's children's products, focus on high-quality content IP at all stages of the children's sector, and complement each other's advantages and share resources. At the same time, it will also provide relevant enterprises with efficient publishing integration, investment and financing, cultural and tourism activities, publicity and promotion services, in order to jointly promote the high-quality development of children-related industries, gather new momentum, inject new vitality, and create new advantages for the high-quality development of the publishing industry.
The third measure is to prepare for the launch of the "Children's Cultural Industry Development Fund": It is planned to take the children's industry integration as the guide to promote the healthy and orderly development of the children's cultural industry. The fund will become an open-end fund in the field of children's cultural industry, helping high-quality entrepreneurs in the field of children's cultural industry to get rid of development difficulties such as homogeneous competition and technological development bottlenecks, and expand new frontiers for the development of children's cultural industry.
