"In the morning of April 16, the awarding ceremony of the 16th and 17th China Lizhuang Cup "October Literature Award" was held in Lizhuang Old Town, Cuiping District, Yibin City, Sichuan Province. The works of 24 writers including Alai’s A Story in the Clouds and Jidi Majia’s Cracked Planet won awards for full-length novels, novellas, short stories, proses and poetry, and special awards.

The awarding event was sponsored by Beijing Publishing Group and the Publicity Department of Yibin Municipal Party Committee, and organized by October Magazine and the People's Government of Cuiping District, Yibin City. Since Lizhuang was identified as the permanent awarding venue of the "October Literature Award" in 2015, we have continuously deepened our cooperation with the October Magazine and are committed to turning this literary feast into a highly influential cultural exchange platform at home and abroad.

Kang Wei, secretary of the Party Committee and president of Beijing Publishing Group mentioned in his speech that this was a celebration waited for two years. It was a grand event in the contemporary literary world. it represented the highest level of creation in the contemporary Chinese literary circles in the past two years, both for the line-up of winners and the quality of the award-winning works. That was rare in previous events.

Alai made a speech and mentioned that Lizhuang preserved the seeds of reading during the most difficult times of the country. He said that today, we had a good opportunity to reawaken Lizhuang and arouse Lizhuang’s story and cultural spirit through the integration of cultural and tourism. The October Literature Awards were presented in Lizhuang, this was one of the ways to awaken culture.

Jidi Majia gave a speech, saying that the outbreak of the epidemic has changed the world as a whole. Therefore, his poem tried to answer his anxiety about the epidemic in which human beings are in trouble together. He also hoped that, through such a poem, people could predict the future prospects of mankind. Mankind has encountered countless disasters and predicaments in history, but the hope of mankind will never be extinct.

At the awarding ceremony, Zhou Hao, member of the Party Committee, director and deputy general manager of Beijing Publishing Group, and Ang Jin, member of the Standing Committee of Cuiping District and head of the Publicity Department, exchanged books, including a variety of books on science, education, humanities, and literature published by Beijing Publishing Group, as well as "Lizhuang Culture Series", the first series of books about the old town of Lizhuang.、
