On the afternoon of March 19, 2021, Kang Wei, secretary of the Party Committee and President of Beijing Publishing Group, led a team to attend the kick-off meeting for the preparation and publication of the Official Report of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Winter Paralympic Games at Capital University of Physical Education and Sports. Li Sen, head of the General Planning Department of Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, He Ming, secretary of the Party Committee of Capital University of Physical Education and Sports, leaders from Chinese-Foreign Translation & Information Service Co., Ltd. of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and invited experts and related personnel attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Li Qingxia, member of the Party Committee, director and editor-in-chief of Beijing Publishing Group.

Li Sen spoke on related mobilization and deployment work, invited experts shared experience in the implementation of the official report project of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The Official Report of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Winter Paralympic Games will be jointly prepared and published by Beijing Publishing Group and Capital University of Physical Education and Sports. Kang Wei said that as an important publishing house for books on the Winter Olympic Games, Beijing Publishing Group attached great importance to the work and had established a Winter Olympics Project Department to communicate with editing experts, cooperate with the Capital University of Physical Education and Sports, and contact Chinese-Foreign Translation & Information Service Co., Ltd. of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration etc. at the first time. Seven teams, i.e., the preparation team, expert team, translation team, picture collection team, editing & review team, design team and service team of the Official Report were established and relevant work was carried out immediately. In the next stage, with the support of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and the joint efforts of experts, the Group will complete this political task on time, keep a good record of the glory and dreams of the 2022 Winter Olympics, and contribute to building Beijing a National Cultural Center.

Li Jinghong, head of the Olympic Legacy Working Team of Beijing Olympic City Development Association, Dong Yingshuang, former vice president of Beijing Sport University Press, and other experts were invited to the meeting. They shared their experience in the preparation and publication of the Official Report on Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and put forward some insights into the compilation of the Official Report of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Winter Paralympic Games.

The Official Report of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Winter Paralympic Games will make a full record and summary of the bidding, preparation, game management, sustainability and post-games work of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. The official report is a classic historical document of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. It must fully reflect the spirit in General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions on the preparation of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, fully implement the concept of holding a green, shared, open and clean 2022 Games. We will earnestly fulfil the reform requirements of Olympic Agenda 2020 and Olympic Agenda 2020: New Norms , accurately understand the “Host City Contract” and its operational requirements. The content of the report must not only meet the requirements of the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee, but also fully reflect the characteristics of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Games withstand the test of history.
