On October 30, "Beijing • International Literary Periodicals Summit Forum", as one of the events for the 40th anniversary of the founding of October magazine, was held at Jinlongtan Hotel. Editors-in-chief of literary magazines such as Russian Foreign Literature, Spanish Quimera, French Now and Japanese SUBARU, Gregor Dotzauer, literary editor and literary critic of German The Daily Mirror, Shi Zhanjun, editor-in-chief of Chinese periodical People's Literature, Gao Xing, editor-in-chief of World Literature, Zhu Yanling, editor-in-chief of City Flower, He Ping, special academic host, Kong Lingyan, editor-in-chief of Contemporary, Yang Xiaosheng, editor-in-chief of Beijing Literature, and Zhong Hongming, deputy editor of Harvest, He Tongbin, deputy editor-in-chief of Zhongshan, Liu Wenfei and Jiang Tong, translators, columnists of "World Literature Periodicals Overview" of October, professors of the College of Foreign Languages, Capital Normal University, Zhao Zhenjiang, professor of the Department of Spanish of Peking University, Huang Liaoyu, professor of the Department of German of Peking University, Shu Cai and Qin Lan from the Institute of Foreign Literature of the Academy of Social Sciences, attended the meeting. The forum was hosted by Chen Dongjie, the editor-in-chief of October magazine. Qu Zhong, general manager of the group and dean of the October Literature Institute, and Wang Zonghu, dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Capital Normal University, delivered speeches.

This forum was the first time that Chinese literary periodicals got together and exchanged with major literary periodicals of other countries. The guests at the conference introduced the periodicals and literary production in various languages around the theme of "Designing Literature: Periodical-centred World Literature Production". They exchanged experience in running periodicals, discussed in-depth development and cooperation measures including mutual translation of introduction, as well as mutual visits and dialogues between writers.
