From November 16 to 20, the Romanian Gaudeamus International Book Fair was held at the Bucharest International Exhibition Centre. China was the Guest of Honour of the book fair.
The group's editor-in-chief Li Qingxia led a delegation to participate in the book fair and attended the opening ceremony of China's Guest of Honour event and the China-Romania Publishing Development Seminar. Li Qingxia delivered a keynote speech at the China-Romania Publishing Development Summit Forum entitled "Promoting Cultural Exchanges with Books and Sharing the Fruits of Human Civilization", introducing the group's overall publishing size, copyright trade development, and the fruitful results of "going global" projects such as "Reading Beijing" brand activities and "October Writer's Residence" to colleagues in the publishing industry. The speech received much attention from the publishing circles.
At this book fair, the group displayed more than 200 high-quality publications, covering Chinese culture, literature, art, education and children, etc., which were highly praised by the organizing committee, the publishing circles of various countries and the visitors. Yan Xiaohong, deputy director of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, and Wang Yefei, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, while visiting the group’s booth, fully confirmed the book categories and booth layout of the group, which adapted to the international platform. Many local media took photos of the booth, and interviewed and reported the group. The English publications "Chinese Culture Series", "Intangible Cultural Heritage" series, and "Beijing Ancient Architecture Culture Series" were especially popular among readers.
During the book fair, the group fully expanded international copyright trade and cooperation, conducted copyright negotiations with large Romanian literary and comprehensive publishing institutions on literary books such as Jade King – History of a Chinese Muslim Family, Ordinary World and Jerusalem.
