From October 28 to November 4, Li Qingxia, editor-in-chief of the group, led a delegation to participate in the 23rd Algiers International Book Fair. This year coincided with the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up, and also the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Algeria. As one of the over 40 publishing organizations designated by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the group participated in the China Guest of Honour event and exhibited nearly 200 books in the categories of theme, social science, culture, literature and children's literature, which were appreciated by overseas readers and publishers.

The guest of honour activities of the book fair was highly valued by China and Algeria. On the opening ceremony, Algerian prime minister Ouyahia and deputy minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee Liang Yanshun visited the China Guest of Honour Pavilion and visited the group's booth. Li Qingxia gave the visiting leaders a detailed introduction to the group's exhibition books and the development of copyright trade cooperation between the group and Arab countries. Liang Yanshun confirmed the work of the group at the exhibition.

During the book fair, Li Qingxia participated in the "Sino-Arab Publishing Culture Summit Forum" and gave a keynote speech on "Improving Sino-Arab cultural exchanges and cooperation with books as a medium", reviewing the more than 10 years of cooperation history between the group and its publishing peers in Arab countries. The cooperation won unanimous praise from participants from both sides. The vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee Liang Yanshun, the secretary-general of the Ministry of Culture of Algeria, Mr. Smail Oulebsir, and the secretary-general of the Arab Publishers Association, Mr. Bachar Chebaro attended the event. Li Qingxia also attended the "agreement signing event of joint copyright for Chinese-themed books", and, on behalf of the group, signed copyright agreement for the Arabic version of Zhongguancun Notes with Arab Science Press.

At the "China Good Books" promotion conference held in the guest of honour activity area, the group's books Zhongguancun Notes and If the Door Is Closed by Snow were highly recommended by overseas sinologists and local scholars. Among the 5 Chinese writers participating in this book fair, Mo Yan, Cao Wenxuan, Alai, and Xu Zechen have all had publishing cooperation with the group. They were invited to take photos with readers in front of the group's booth, thus playing a good role in promoting the group's brand.

In this exhibition, the group signed copyright export agreements for over 20 children's and literary books such as Chinese Children's Martial Arts, Miracle Lake, The Invisible World, Beijing: the City and the Year with UAE Tafa Press and Arab Science Press.

The Algiers International Book Fair is hosted by the Ministry of Culture of Algeria. Since 1995, it has become an annual cultural event in North Africa and the Arab region, and an important stage for cultural exchanges and cooperation in the Arab region. The book fair lasted from October 29 to November 10, with the engagement of nearly 1,000 exhibitors from more than 50 countries and regions. China's guest-of-honour activity has a very positive significance for promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Arab countries in the field of publishing, and expanding the spread and influence of Chinese culture in North Africa and Arab countries.
