Chief Editor of Literary Journal October Chen Dongjie Participated in a Torch Relay for Welcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics
On February 4, 2022, 97 torch bearers completed a torch relay for welcoming the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Chen Dongjie, chief editor of the literary journal October under Beijing Publishing Group participated in the torch relay as one of the representatives of publicity and culture industry of Beijing Municipality. Wearing the white uniforms decorated with red and yellow patterns, the torch bearers traveled through cultural relics at the Summer Palace, an imperial garden symbolizing “Chinese gardens.” Holding high the torch in their hands, they proclaimed the arrival of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, and wished the Winter Olympics be crowned with success.
Torch Bearer Chen Dongjie
Chen Dongjie was born in Cao County in Shandong Province. He graduated from Renmin University of China with a master’s degree in art and literature. He served as an editor and deputy chief editor of the literary journal October under Beijing Publishing Group from 1991, and is the chief editor and senior editor of October. Many literary works he edited have been presented with a number of important literary prizes in China. Chen Dongjie was selected as a national leading talent in the press and publishing industry, and was selected as an excellent editor winning the Chinese Government Award for Publishing.
