Recently, the Classic China International Publishing Project Office announced the list of selected books for 2021. 92 books from 67 publishing organizations were selected for the project. Among them, four books submitted by the group, A Story in the Clouds (Italian version), Beijing: The Biography (English version), Scientific Inventions in Chinese History: Illustrated Version (Kazakh version) and The Disappearing Beauty (Animal Volume and Plant Volume, Spanish version) were successfully selected. The above four projects are the only ones selected from Beijing in 2021. Compared with the same period of the last year, the number of this selection has increased from one to four.

"Classic China International Publishing Project" was started in 2009. It is a key national cultural construction project under the supervision of the National Press and Publication Administration. It aims to encourage and support the publication of outstanding export-oriented books that meet the needs of foreign markets and effectively promote “going global” of Chinese books. With the support of this project, 29 books of the group have been selected. The group has successfully published Intangible Cultural Heritage Series (English version) and Himalayan Ecological Observation Series – Eyes of Yarlung Zangbo (Japanese version), In the Name of the People (French version). This project provides a powerful booster for telling Beijing stories and spreading Beijing’s voice, effectively promoting the overseas publication of Beijing books, and improving the group’s international prestige.
